Just few weeks ago I started a series on “The New Rules of Rich”. Click here to catch up with the Part 1 and here for the Part 2 of this interesting series.
Rule Number 7. Redeem the Time(s)
This is so core that I like to term it my best rule. In one sense it simple means be up to date! In another sense it means renew your mind! You see the human mind can be likened to a gigantic house with several sometimes countless rooms, which we generally call life’s experiences. The trouble is once there is no one living in this house, it begins to deteriorate real fast! So our minds have to be occupied daily with tenants – yes positive tenants to keep the home fresh! Personally my best and all time recommended way to redeem the time is to read my Bible! And daily too! Even the Bible in (Romans 12:1-3) recommends that you do this if you want to be wise? Read one chapter of the book of Proverbs every day! You will be amazed how much wisdom will accumulate in your mind (house) after some time! Actually this is not a rule but a command – redeem your time daily!
Rule Number 8. Buy-Something-Sell-Something
That is the surest way to make income. Buy-something-sell-something, or sell- something-buy-something. If you do this repeatedly it becomes a part of you (habit). If you do this effectively, you will become very good at it (Pro). If you do this efficiently it ultimately makes you (rich!). So what do you need to buy? Ideas, products, services, time, people (well not literally) etc. and what do need to sell? Same as what you need to buy, only with a margin.
Today I checked again the list of all the rich people in the world who have managed to stay rich overtime. Guess what I found? They all buy something and sell something!
Rule Number 9. The Power of Network.
Ever heard the saying that you can “use your network to build your net worth.” This is so true and works every time. So the million dollar question is – who is in your network? Don’t kid yourself – you can only do so much! You need sharp brains to give you perspective! You need hard working minds to build your vision! You need more intelligent minds to teach you wisdom! And certainly you need successful mentors to guide you with their experience.
To be continued…
